Well...not quite. Matt and Maddie actually met on move-in day at the University of Arizona in 2015. Their worlds kept colliding through mutual friends, classmates, and an occasional game of Mario Cart in the dorms. As they started talking more seriously in 2016, Matt asked Maddie to join him as his date on a fraternity weekend trip to Disneyland. She agreed to tag along and the two spent 16+ hours alone in the car as they drove to and from California for an adventure-filled trip.

It wasn't until later that month when Matt asked Maddie to make things "official"....when, to his surprise, she said "no, not until you have taken me out on a proper date." Matt agreed with her request, and the very next morning he took her on a breakfast date to Bobo's diner. And the rest, as they say, is history.

They continued dating throughout college. After graduation in May of 2019, the couple moved into their first home together in Tucson with their two dogs, Luke and Leia. While learning how to "adult" and live together through a pandemic, another dog named Lyle was added to the mix. In 2022, the couple decided to pack their bags and move up north to Phoenix to begin a new chapter of their lives.

In 2023, Matt and Maddie bought their very first home together on Prickly Pear Trail, added a cat named Lulu to their family, and have settled into a beautiful life together.

On November 24th, 2023, Matt asked Maddie for her hand in marriage, surrounded by their parents and Maddie's grandfather, Pop. Through happy tears, she said yes!
